The Pram-Free Challenge: How it started.

Before the birth of our child, my husband and I were adamant that we'd use a pram daily. We spared no expense in getting a top of the line, Swedish pram.

Hubby assembled the pram just before our daughter was due to be born.

I must admit, it was a really good looking pram.

First time out at the shopping centre with my Mum and bub and we had no idea how to open the thing! I tried Youtubing instructions, the lady in the clip made it seem seamless.. it was not. Thankfully a father in an SUV pulled over and helped us.

I took the pram for a spin in the centre & it didn't glide easily like you'd expect it to. "That's weird", I thought to myself. You'd think such an expensive pram would be flawless..

A few months & several issues later we returned the pram. We were offered an exchange but I had lost faith in the company, we had been sold a lemon, by that stage I had been baby wearing for a good few months also. A lot of the time, bub would want to be out seeing the world, or cuddling mummy so the pram was something I'd use to carry my nappy bag and groceries.

We looked at a few prams, thinking we'd get something straight away. The really practical prams weren't aesthetically pleasing & the good looking prams weren't practical. They all had something wrong with them.

For the last couple of years I've been having a rose gold 'binge.' It was never common for young girls to wear rose gold but even my engagement and wedding rings are RG. (Thanks hubby!)

For curiosities sake I thought, I'd google rose gold pram. Thinking either nothing would come up, or something ridiculously extravagant owned by someone in hollywood or the like.

I was wrong. 2 Prams within our price range popped up. One was more of a muted brushed metal with faux black leather & the other was shiny rose gold! Limited edition! I had to have it. I know, I know. I looked in to the practical features also, watched many videos and read a plethora of reviews. It ticked all my boxes, big basket, sturdy wheels, compact folding. I was in love.

We searched and searched and it wasn't available in Aus however it was available overseas.. and we happened to be heading there in two months! Hubby rang around and bought it after I'd convinced him I could just wear her for the 2 months.

There was a niggle in the back of my mind that said... "eep! It's not going to be easy." We had the option of buying a cheapie in the meantime too.

I wasn't having it. I had seen other mamas without prams, that solely baby wore. I was going to try it. It was only two months anyway. What was I to lose?
