Review: Artipoppe, Petrol Tyger

A lovely mama sent her Petrol Tyger travelling my way.

Artipoppe is the equivalent to the Louboutin of wraps, extravagant, exclusive in more ways than one and on the pricier side of the spectrum.

As an artipoppe novice, I wondered if the wraps would live up to the brand.

Let me start by saying I wanted to hate this wrap. I wanted it to be horrible and diggy and uncomfortable. I wanted it to be overrated and underwhelming.

No such luck, as soon as I opened the fluff mail it was soft and blankety in hand. Thick but not too heavyweight. Definitely more suited to winter, although Melbourne weather most of the year round.

At 77% cotton and 22% linen it has that familiar cotton/linen feel. Soft and smooshy, even more so with the inclusion of 40% egyptian cotton.

The Tyger looked even better in person, and the colours even more vibrant, which is to be expected with most woven wraps, photos can be surprisingly deceptive. The warm ecru compliments the cool "petrol" in a lovely manner.

What really sold me on the wrap was the first night, when I had popped our little restless bundle into a FWCC and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, that sheen! The ecru shimmered in the light & hubby thought I was nuts as I twisted back and forth a few times to catch a glance of the glimmer. "You're really into this wrapping thing now, huh?" he said. "Yup fallen helplessly down the rabbit hole." And loving every minute of it!

Due to the blend the passes glided easily, strand tightening was a breeze, just the right amount of bounce and stretch. Definitely a toddler/ chunk worthy wrap, but you could get away with wrapping a squish in it too.

Considering the almost slippy feel when tightening you'd think the wrap would sag and loosen when wearing for lengthy periods, this was not the case. It held rock solid even with my wriggly, squirmy , leaning (almost) 6 month old.

At size 6 I had to get used to the length, but I definitely enjoyed the long tails and fancier finishes.

We tried a few versions of rucks, shepherds carried, FWCC regular and tub. It was sad to see this beauty go.

You can definitely feel the sumptuous elegance this wrap exudes, it even dressed up my outfits.

I'm not a fan of the owner of Artipoppe but without getting into politics, I'd say Artipoppe wraps are for mums who want to be a bit fancy and don't mind dropping some serious PP.

They weren't lying when they say, you get what you pay for.
