Review: Magic Mako by Ankalia

At first when I saw Mako, I understood the appeal. It's a modern geometric design in a pretty colour way, purples and blues.

What I didn't understand however, was the fanatics! There's a huge mako bandwagon and #makomania! Women literally falling over one and other to get a piece of Mako.

I was lucky enough to be chosen by the lovely Krystal from Under My Wing to host her Mako 4.

It arrived and I unwrapped it expecting to be underwhelmed... Boy was I wrong! The colours were even more beautiful & vibrant in person, and above all they actually suited my complexion more than I had anticipated. I'm not sure of my season, but whatever it is, Mako falls into it.

Mako is 100% cotton, but not your regular cotton wrap, it's thin yet soft and smooshy in hand. I even asked Krystal if it was totally broken in, as it felt that way. Her response was "No, I think it has a bit to go." I've heard it referred to as wrapping wizardry and I couldn't think of a term that was more apt.

Now I know why when Mako's are listed they're swooped upon within minutes, if not seconds.

Strand tightening is a breeze, passes glide in to place and Mako almost wraps itself, with those qualities you'd expect a bit of sag, but Mako held strong and only dropped marginally with my wiggly bub.

The slightly elongated tails on a FWCC (tub) only added to the appeal. It looked beautiful in shepherds and Double hammock (my favourite), as the chest pass makes you feel like you're wearing a beautiful Mako top.

Due to the colour scheme It has a really coastal coastal feel to it. Almost every little triangle has texture variation and the shoulders self-pleat! Only the best wraps self pleat.

It has the perfect amount of stretch and bounce and was well suited to the warmer months, but I feel it could be worn year round.

It's thin and supportive enough to be perfect in wrap or Ring Sling form.

Suitable for newborns up, newbie wrappers and advanced wrappers alike.

If you ever get the chance to test out a Mako, do so!

Now I totally get the hype! #teammako
